Angelina Jolie files for divorce from Brad Pitt

Brangelina has come to an end.
Yes, you read that correctly. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are parting ways after 11 years together — two of them spent as a married couple.

On Monday, the actress filed for divorce from Pitt and is said to be seeking physical custody of their six children — Pax, Shiloh, Maddox, Zahara, Knox and Vivienne — according to the Associated Press.

"The documents filed by Jolie's lawyer, celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, reportedly state the "By the Sea" stars separated on Sept. 15 — less than a month after their two-year wedding anniversary.
"This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time," attorney Robert Offer said in the statement.
"Angelina will always do what’s in the best interest to protect her children. She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time," Geyer Kosinski, Angelina Jolie's manager,told E! News.
Pitt later released a statement to People,saying, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
The couple first became acquainted on the set of their 2005 film, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," when Pitt was still married to actress Jennifer Aniston. That same year, Jolie denied reports that a romance between thembegan before Pitt and Aniston split.
The stars were married on Aug. 2014, at their estate, Château Miraval, in France.In a2014 interview with NBC's Tom Brokaw, Jolie explained that married changed her relationship with Pitt.
"It did change," she said. "We were fortunateenough to be in that unusual situation, we got married with our [six] children and they werepart of the ceremony. It was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together. Not because we had to ... because we were absolutely sure we felt that much of a family."
