If you're looking for info about your favorite stars online — look out! Some celebrity searches aren't as safe as others.
Each year McAfee's Most Dangerous Celebrities list, published by Intel Security, reveals which popular personalities are most popular with hackers, phishers and scammers.
This year, mega stars Amy Schumer and Justin Bieber top the roundup.
A search for the "Trainwreck" actress has a 16.11 percent likelihood of returning results that direct fans to sites with viruses and malware. As for the "Sorry" singer, there's a 15 percent chance that Beliebers could connect with a malicious website.
And coming in at No. 3 on the list is a particularly familiar face around these parts: our very own Carson Daly!
Yes, the TODAY anchor and "Voice" host has been deemed dangerous — when it comes to cybercriminals trying to lure his fans to click without caution.
"Go to your Google window and you type in 'How in the heck is Carson Daly still on television?' and you run the risk of getting some malware," he joked. "So be careful!"
Of course, that last part isn't a joke. Care is needed to avoid unwanted consequences, such as compromised passwords or personal information.
As such, McAfee suggests a few helpful hints, including watching celebrity videos from their original sources rather than third-party sites, being wary of searching for related downloads (especially given that "torrent" is the riskiest search term of all) and using security software to make all of your searches safer.
