Wonder Woman Lynda Carter meets Supergirl Melissa Benoist in epic photo

"Supergirl" star Melissa Benoist and iconic "Wonder Woman" actress Lynda Carter recently posed for an on-set photo while filming the second season of the television series about Superman's cousin.

"Met a wonderful woman today," 27-year-old Benoist cleverly captioned the shot, which she shared with Instagram fans early Friday.
Carter, who played Wonder Woman for three seasons on the classic '70s TV show, joined the cast of the action-drama just in time for its move from CBS to The CW next season.

But this time around, she trades her invisible jet for Air Force One. That's right! The 65-year-old actress has signed on to play another powerful lady — the president of the United States!
And she appears to be having a blast.
"I'm excited!" Carter tweeted on Friday.
Casting Carter was a dream come true for the show's producers, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who told The Hollywood Reporter they'd tried since season one to nab the actress to play the commander in chief, but were thwarted by scheduling conflicts.
Having Carter on board now is a "true honor," said the show's co-showrunner Ali Adler.

Carter has racked up film and television credits, done voice-over work, and even recorded several music albums, but she just can't seem to shake those DC Comics characters. In 2007, she guest-starred on an episode of "Smallville" to play the Kryptonite-empowered Moira, mother of Clark Kent's best friend, Chloe.

Speaking of Clark Kent, "Supergirl" has also added "Teen Wolf" actor Tyler Hoechlin to play Superman/Clark Kent next season.
Season two of "Supergirl" kicks off Monday, Oct. 10, and we officially can't wait!
